B&W Instrumentation and Electrical is committed to a safe and healthy working environment, evidenced by strict compliance with the South African Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993, the Mines Health and Safety Act, 29 of 1996, and other relevant regulations and internationally recognised standards and guidelines.

We pride ourselves on an impeccable safety record to date, and remain totally committed to the safety of all employees both on and off site, a commitment that is underpinned by our NOSA Five-star rating and NOSCAR Safety Awards to head office. B&W employs the NOSA Five Star  System to effectively manage SHE at an  operational level. The system provides a detailed evaluation of the requirements needed to keep the organisation safe, healthy and environmentally sustainable.

All departmental heads, project directors, contract managers and site managers are responsible for ensuring that the Safety Management System is fully implemented. In addition, ongoing initiatives, training and incentives are aimed at building a ‘safety culture’,fostering individual safety accountability.

Health and safety procedures are continually scrutinised and improved to ensure that the group’s policies are in line with international standards and guidelines.
